Duct cleaning is one of the most oversold services in our industry. For most homes with a decent filter, the ducts don't need cleaning. We'll tell you if yours don't.
It does make sense after a remodel (drywall dust goes everywhere), after moving into a house with pets or smokers, when there's visible debris or mold, or if pests have been in the ducts. It also helps in older Halden homes where return ducts were built into floor joists and have collected decades of dust.
When we clean, we use a truck-mounted negative air machine and rotary brushes, open and clean every register, and clean the blower and coil. You'll see before and after photos from inside the ducts.
Signs you need this
- You recently finished a remodel or drywall work
- Visible dust blowing from registers when the fan starts
- Signs of mice or insects in ductwork
- You moved into a home and don't know its history

Common questions
How often should ducts be cleaned?
Rarely. Every 7–10 years at most, or after specific events like a remodel. A good filter matters far more.
Will it lower my energy bills?
Usually not noticeably. Sealing leaky ducts saves energy; cleaning them mostly affects dust.
Do you spray chemicals in the ducts?
Not by default. We use sanitizers only for specific problems like mold or pest contamination, and only with your approval.
