Most furnace failures come down to a handful of parts: the igniter that lights the gas, the flame sensor that confirms it lit, the pressure switch that checks the venting, the inducer motor that pushes exhaust out, and the control board that runs the sequence. Our vans carry all of them for the brands common in Halden, so about 85% of repairs are finished on the first visit.
Your technician will read the error code, test each step of the start-up sequence, and show you what failed. You get a written price for the repair before any work begins. The $89 diagnostic is credited toward it.
If the furnace is old enough that a repair doesn't make sense, we'll say so and explain why. We will not push a replacement on a furnace that has good years left.
Signs you need this
- The blower runs but the air from the vents is cold
- The furnace starts, runs a few minutes, then shuts off (short cycling)
- A blinking light on the control board inside the furnace door
- New noises: squealing, rattling, or a bang when the burners light
- The house won't get past 64°F on a cold night

Common questions
Is the $89 extra if you do the repair?
No. If you approve the repair, the $89 is subtracted from the total. If you decide not to repair, the $89 is the whole bill.
Do you charge more on weekends?
Scheduled weekend repairs cost the same as weekdays. After 8 p.m. and on holidays there is a $95 after-hours fee, waived for Comfort Plan members.
Do you work on every brand?
Yes. We carry common parts for the major brands and can usually get less common parts from Duluth or the Twin Cities by the next morning.
