A heat pump replaces your AC and takes over most or all of your heating. It moves heat instead of burning fuel: in winter it pulls heat from outdoor air and brings it inside, in summer it runs in reverse as an air conditioner.
We install ducted heat pumps (using your existing ductwork, paired with a furnace or air handler) and ductless systems for homes without ducts. Every installation starts with a load calculation and a look at your electrical panel, since many older Halden homes need a panel upgrade first.
The install includes the outdoor unit on a snow stand, the indoor coil or air handler, refrigerant lines, electrical, thermostat programming, the permit and the city inspection. We set the thermostat's balance point for your system so you get the savings you paid for.

Do I need to replace my ductwork?
Usually not. Some homes need one or two larger returns, because heat pumps move more air than older furnaces. We'll check.
Can I keep my gas furnace?
Yes. That's a dual-fuel system, and it's the most common setup we install in Halden.
How long does a heat pump last?
About 15 years, similar to an AC. It runs year-round, so maintenance twice a year matters more than with an AC.
